The Highland Road Park Observatory has recently been transformed into a remote control astronomical observatory! This is an exciting accomplishment and will allow trained teachers to access and control the telescope from the Internet in their classrooms. 

The lessons provided on this site have been designed for middle and high school use. Each lesson focuses on a particular science standard and addresses it through hands-on activities accompanied by the remote control use of the telescope. While the lessons are greatly enhanced by the real time use of the telescope, they can also be conducted without this feature. We hope that you will travel to the sun to explore sunspots and then visit distant galaxies with our telescope!
